Welcome to Limousine Bull’s Spring Newsletter

We thought we should let you know of the recent changes to Limousine Bull’s Committee. We now have Ann Craig – Chair, Wendy MacDonald – Vice Chair and Becca Patterson – Project Manager. Continuing from last year are Rod Scott – Treasurer, Gordon Pirie leading the Life Drawing Sessions and Emma Grant – Secretary. Anna Geerdes continues as a non-portfolio member. We send our thanks to Debby and Matthew Wickham who, after two years of hard work, have stood down from management of Limousine Bull.

Life Drawing

There has been much activity since our changeover, with our first event in March presenting the annual Exhibition of Life Drawings. This proved once again to be successful and we would like to thank all the class members, Gordon and Becca for their commitment to the project. If you would like to take part, Life Drawing Sessions are held at Limousine Bull on Wednesday evenings from 7 – 9 pm on a drop in basis. For more information contact Gordon at any of the addresses below.

Website – Members and Proposals

The website has been updated slightly pending a new look in the near future. Current members wishing to be added to the new members page or to update with their latest images or contact information, please get in touch with Wendy at one of the addresses below. In the meantime, our most recent activities are on facebook. We have also updated the proposals information on the website, and invite individuals or groups to submit proposals for consideration by our selection panel. We offer group or solo exhibition space, in addition to a bookable project space, with the opportunity of an exhibition at the end to round off. Although we cannot guarantee support with funding, we are happy to be of assistance in any other way. Contact us at one of the addresses below for more information. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis during 2010.

NEOS – Green View

Limousine Bull will be hosting a group show as part of NEOS from the 11th – 19th September 2010. Artists are invited to submit proposals with a closing date of 30th May. This can be for any medium inspired by the theme Green View, which can be interpreted in the broadest sense. It is anticipated that interested arists will be self funding, and responsible for installation, maintenance and removal of work at the end of the exhibition, including a share in the invigilating rota. Of course, Becca will be available throughout for any support or assistance required. We hope this will be an excellent opportunity for artists to collaborate with our collective, providing a rewarding experience for all. Application packages are available for download on the website proposals page or contact us at any of the addresses below for more information.

Open Doors

Come along to our Torry premises on Wednesday afternoons, when we will be holding drop in sessions, between 2 – 5pm, starting 7th April. Either Ann, Becca or Wendy will be available to chat about any ideas you may have. We can also offer use of IT facilities at this time, which includes access to the internet, graphic, webdesign and printing utilities. Alternatively, you can make an advance booking by contacting us below.

Networking Night

Finally, we would like to invite you to our networking night on Friday 30th April, 7 – 9pm. This is really just a social event for members and non-members, which will allow us to get to know each other and to hear what you would like Limousine Bull to provide in the future. Drinks and refreshments will be on offer, along with music and slides.

Hope to see you soon
